Wednesday, Sony has revealed the PSP lineup for this year, which consists of quite a few major games, including Assassin’s Creed and a portable version of LittleBigPlanet, which is said to allow gamers to share their levels with the community.
Other titles coming to Sony’s PlayStation Portable are „Motorstorm,” which is set in Alaska, and „Rock Band: Unplugged,” which is still being developed at the moment.
The company said that a peripheral attachment would not be made available, adding that players would only need to use the left, up, triangle and circle buttons, while they would be able to switch between guitar, drums, bass, and vocals with the help of the L and R shoulder buttons.
The games have been scheduled to be released at the SCEA’s annual Destination Playstation retail and publisher event that is to be held in Scottsdale, Arizona.
For this year, Sony has also planned to render the PSP more appealing to women by putting forward a lilac-colored model.
The company has announced that over 50 million people have chosen the PSP over the the actual Playstation, mainly due to the gadget’s small size and the fact that it can be taken anywhere.
Nevertheless, the PSP is still lagging behind Nintendo’s DS when it comes to handheld gaming machines, with more than 90 million users preferring the latter console to Sony’s device.
In other news, Sony has announced that the number of registered accounts on PlayStation Network all throughout the world had reached a total of 20 million, which translates as a significant increase from the 14 million registered last year.
