The Wii MotionPlus promised by Japanese video games producer Nintendo will most likely hit the market some time in June this year, the company announced in a press released.
Nintendo, a company which has been dominating the video gaming industry for the past couple of years, said the Wii MotionPlus will sell for $19.99. The Japanese company also announced the release of the Wii Sports Resort.
Nintendo described the Wii MotionPlus as a gaming accessory that will take "the motion-sensing controls of Wii to new levels of precision and performance."
The first game from Nintendo that uses the new technologic accessory is Wii Sports Resort. The video game will launch about a month after the Wii MotionPlus’ launch. Also during that period after the launch of the accessory, Electronic Arts will also launch a game that will use the new add-on. I’m talking about the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, which is scheduled to hit the shelves on June 16.
The package containing the Wii MotionPlus and the Wii Sports Resort will sell for $49.99.
The new accessory, Wii MotionPlus, tracks more accurately the player’s arm position and orientation and provides “a true 1:1 response,” Nintendo explained. As for Wii Sports Resort, the game introduces a series of new outdoor sports such as Frisbee tossing, jet skiing and sword fighting.
"Wii MotionPlus represents a new evolution in video game control. The variety of fun games in Wii Sports Resort show off its incredible precision," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive VP of sales & marketing.
