We already covered the subject of Apple's run for the 1 billionth application downloaded via App Store. We now have more details on who was the lucky one who downloaded the 1 billionth application and what application he download.
The downloader was 13 year old Connor Mulcahey, while the app was called Bumb. The application allows its users to swap of contact information by bumping two iPhones together. Pretty cool and childish huh?
As promised, Connor Mulcahey will be awarded by Apple with a that includes $10,000 iTunes card, MacBook Pro, iPod Touch and Time Capsule. The 13 year old teen will also be squeezed into a upcoming video game developed by Electric Arts, as the company promised. Lucky ba***rd! He didn't have to pay for the application because it is a freebie.

Apple made the best out of this event. It let everyone know how good it is doing, especially in almost everything connected with the iPhone. The company created a Web page specially dedicated to the event. The page basically features a counter that shows the exact number of apps that have already been downloaded and the number grows in real time.
The Apple App Store reached this impression feat after just nine months of activity. Wow indeed.
