The 41-year-old Alex Da Silva, a salsa instructor and one of the choreographers for the FOX television show "So You Think You Can Dance" was arrested Saturday. He is detained on rape charges and his bail was set at $3.8 million.
He was previously accused of sexually assaulting three women, but the charges were dropped.
The three cases were reopened after a fourth woman filed a complaint in March this year, saying that Da Silva lured her in his home and raped her.
According to Los Angeles Times, the four women were all students of Da Silva at the time of the assaults. Alex Da Silva, who was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was currently teaching in several Los Angeles dance studios, where he promoted his dance style now known as LA Style Salsa.
"These four women don't know each other at all, yet their reports read basically the same," the detective John Eum of the Los Angeles Police
Department said in a press statement.
According to the Associated Press, Da Silva is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday.
