The Baby Shaker app, which was first approved in the App Store, was now removed by Apple.
The app features a crude drawing of a baby who cries and in order to make him stop, the iPhone user must shake the device until the baby’s eyes are covered in red Xs. "On a plane, on the bus, in a theater. Babies are everywhere you don’t want them to be! They’re always distracting you from preparing for that big presentation at work with their incessant crying. Before Baby Shaker there was nothing you could do about it," this is how the presentation of the app looked like before it was removed.
The caused some frustration amid parents and groups with the activity focused on children. The application which was developed by Sikalosoft was removed from the App Store on Wednesday. To download the app, iPhone users had to pay $0.99. The app was introduced on Monday, but the public outcry, which blamed Apple for allowing an app like that to make into the App Store, determined the company to remove it.
Both Apple and Sikalosoft refused to comment about this. However, Apple made a tradition out of not explaining its decisions.
Nevertheless, the decision to remove this application adds to the questions marks regarding Apple’s process of selecting apps. There were some apps that were denied access in the App Store, but this one made it through. How did it happen?
