DICE Announces Bad Company 2

Thursday, DICE announced that it was in the process of developing Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which will feature, along with inhospitable regions such as covered in snow mountains, dense jungles and dusty villages, an array of lethal weapons and the vehicles to match all that.

Moreover, the company has also revealed that in the summer of 2009, it would launch Battlefield 1943, which is a new multiplayer game to be made available for PCs, Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Store. The game, which was created by using the same Frostbite engine that is at the basis of Bad Company, will place gamers at the core of World War II, ensuring hours and hours of 24-player multiplayer action in three different locations, Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.

Karl Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer Battlefield Franchise at DICE, stated that Bad Company 2 embodied everything that gamers had enjoyed about the original game, while bringing forth some strong points like more vehicles, more destruction and more team play.

Speaking of Battlefield 1943, Troedsson said that it was a new approach to a historic event that had put to use new technology, which the company was anxious to introduce to players.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been scheduled for roll out during the first quarter of 2010  for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, whereas Battlefield 1943 is set to be released in the summer for PC, Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Store.
