Electronic Arts has recently announced four new games in the Spore franchise, including the first version for Nintendo’s Wii gaming machine, “Spore Hero,” another DS „Spore” game, along with aPC expansion called „Spore Galactic Adventures.” The latter has been set for launch in the spring.
The original game was released on PC last year, developer EA Maxis having revealed that ever since then, over 65 million pieces of user-created content had been shared over the web.
PC add-on „Galactic Adventures” is the first title to be aggregated into the Spore franchise, which according to Maxis would bring much variety and depth to the original game, enabling gamers to play mission-based adventures, as well as to create their customized adventures.
Moreover, Maxis said that the latter would come to be shared among friends.
The company has also revealed that given the success of the „Spore Creature Creator” application, it would develop a version for younger gamers in the future.
The new game is said to allow children to play together in a „Spore” universe and will be called „Creature Keeper,” revealed Lucy Bradshaw, the general manager of EA's Maxis studio.
Along with the second version of the franchise for Nintendo’s DS handheld console „Spore Hero Arena,” EA will bring the „Spore Hero” for the Wii, as well.
Both games for Nintendo’s consoles have been scheduled for release the fall of 2009.
