Rockstar Games have finally launched the official website
for so much anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV. Not just a teaser, as before, the new site has great chances of
convincing the users visit it more than once.
The site, which was opened on Friday, offers an incredible
amount of new information such as screenshots, videos and in-game movies. As
the site’s visitor, one gets previews of Liberty City,
as well as of the people, surroundings and entertainment that one will
encounter there.
There’s also a download section, where the fans can get
wallpapers, screensavers, buddy icons and avatars. Unfortunately, the
Multiplayer and Music links are not yet available, displaying the “coming soon”
message, when you roll over them, to the disappointment of the impatient fans.
Predictions made online by fans and game experts say that
GTA IV will contain multiplayer racing, death-matches and objective-based
missions.
The game is written by Dan Houser, Rockstar co-founder and the
action takes place in Liberty City, a fictional city mostly based on New York and
New Jersey. Around 150 game-developers have worked on the game. The trailer
features the main character Niko Bellic, saying this short monologue:
"Life is complicated; I killed people, smuggled people, sold people.
Perhaps here, things will be different."
GTA IV was supposed to be launched on Oct.16 2007, but the
launching date has been delayed, due to "due to additional development
time required to complete the title." The new date the company set for
releasing the game in the market is April 29 2008. The game will be available
for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
