London - Britain's Prince Harry will travel to New York on his first official overseas engagement later this month to visit Ground Zero and play in a fund-raising polo match to help poor African children, his office in London said Wednesday.
Prince Harry, 24, will pay tribute to the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and meet wounded war veterans of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He will also play in a charity polo match to raise funds for his Sentebale charity for children in the southern African state of Lesotho during his trip on May 29 and 30.
Prince Harry, an officer in the British army, spent 10 weeks on the frontline in Afghanistan's Helmand province, but was pulled out on security grounds when his secret deployment became public in February, 2008.
