"Ugly Betty" star Rebecca Romijn and her husband actor Jerry O'Connell became parents to twin girls, family friend Howard Stern made the announcement on his show this morning, according to Usmgazine.com.

"They had twin girls, Dolly and Charlie," Stern said on his show. "Rebecca likes Dolly Parton, so they named the one after Dolly Parton, and Jerry got to name the other one Charlie, but his brother’s name is Charlie -- and it’s a girl Charlie."

Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip were born on Dec. 28. Confirming the news, the couple's rep told Us that the family was doing well and the babies were already at home.

Last fall Romijn said in all seriousness that she wanted to name one of her daughters after Dolly Parton as she’s a huge fan of the country legend while O'Connell said he thought about the names Mary-Kate and Ashley after the famous Olsen twins. He also said he already felt very protective of his daughter, and joked that they would only be allowed to date men who run countries or men who are heir to the throne or are currently running a nation.

The couple announced they were expecting in July 2008. Romijn said she tried Clomid a year before she got pregnant, but said she was off the fertility drug for months before the twins were conceived naturally without in vitro fertilization.

Since they got married in 2007, the two made no secret of their desire to start a family, and were thrilled when they found out they were expecting two baby girls. Romjin revealed to Page Six back in November that she was never a girl who dreamed about what her wedding day would be like, but always dreamed about decorating her baby's nursery.

She went on praising her husband for being a "pragmatic, smart, sawy, enthusiastic" person who will make a "fantastic" dad.

The 36-year-old actress, who was forced to skip Stern's October wedding because she was put on bed rest, spoke about her pregnancy saying she felt like a "beached whale" and was ready to give birth.

Speaking about the future parents, Romijn's co-star on "Ugly Betty," Vanessa Williams, said the two will make the most "fun, zany" parents in California.

"She's smart, she's talented, she's funny, and she's well grounded," Williams added. "That's what you need to be to be a great mom and raise great kids."

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell, who met in the fall of 2004 when Romijn was scouting for her documentary "Wet Dreams," about choreographing the fountains at Las Vegas' Bellagio Hotel and Casino, tied the knot in a low-key ceremony with only 100 family members and friends, including the couple's two dogs.

Most recently, Romijn and O’Connell released a video (Mystique is pregnant) through FunnyorDie.com that was a spoof on Romijn’s shape shifting role in "X-Men" as the Mystique. Romijn can be seen complaining about her bump as she is shifting into different people while laying in bed, including comedian Jerry Minor and Perez Hilton.
