Capcom has announced that the demo for their long awaited resident evil 5 will be available for Xbox users on the 26th of January, while PS3 users will get the demo one week later, on February 5th. The Resident Evil franchise has come a long way from the original title, and has become quite a success, being transformed into a movie and causing a real frenzy among gamers.
This is quite incredible as the plot is really not that complicated, basically involving an evil organization and zombies. On the other hand, the game has always been fun to play and that is crucial for any game.
Nowadays, Resident Evil is not aiming at the horror action gaming it once used its fans with, but is now more of an action game, with incredible graphics and a very smart graphics engine.
The demo will feature three levels of co-op play: single-player with AI support, two-player split-screen on a single Xbox 360 and two-player across Xbox LIVE. The PS3 version will have the main features, and it will certainly give a taste of the new game to the fans of the series. The official launch of Resident Evil 5 will happen on March 13th when gamers will be shown the entire game.
It is very interesting how Capcom is now starting to like Xbox more than the others, Resident Evil 5 being the second game they launched first on the Xbox and after that on other consoles.
