Stockholm - Sweden on Wednesday reported its first confirmed case of novel influenza A(H1N1), the Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control said.

The woman, in her 50s, was tested last week after she felt poorly on returning from a trip to the United States.

The woman has been treated at her home, and her family were also given anti-viral medication, the Stockholm County Council said.

Authorities have advised people to use a special hotline if feeling poorly after returning from visits to Mexico or the US, or feeling sick after being in contact with someone with the flu.
