Budapest - Hungarian motorcycling star Gabor Talmacsi will not take part in the French Grand Prix to be held in Le Mans this weekend following a split with his Balatonring team, according to a statement released on Thursday by his management company.
Talmacsi's Italian manager Stefano Favaro told the Hungarian news website Index of disagreements with the Balatonring 250cc team, part of the Aspar Team stable led by Jorge "Aspar" Martinez.
"Wrangling over a second motorcycle and Gabor's media representation has gone on for two or three months," Favaro said.
"Racing is my life, but we reached a point where we could not avoid reassessing the situation," Talmacsi said.
The motorcyclist added that the pressure he has been under as a result of disagreements with management was making it difficult to concentrate on racing.
Martinez expressed bafflement at Talmacsi's decision when contacted by the Hungarian news agency MTI.
"My relationship with him has always been perfect. I hope we can successfully clear up the situation by talking, and continue what has so far been a fruitful partnership for both of us," Martinez said.
Talmacsi became a sporting hero in Hungary after winning the 125cc World Championships in 2007 as a member of the Aspar team.
He was due to race in the 250cc category in Le Mans on Sunday after finishing seventh in Jerez, Spain on May 3.
"I don't know what the future will bring, but it can only be better than this situation," Talmacsi said.
