T-Mobile announced that it will start selling their G1 mobile phone in more European countries, after the phone was available in the US and Britain since October. The G1 is regarded as the phone which has the best chances of being a real iPhone killer.
When it was launched in the USA pre-orders of the G1 phone reached 1, 5 million, which means that the phone, which run on Android, a system partially designed by Google, has made quite an entry on the market of smart phones.
The G1 features a touch screen and slide that reveals a very functional Qwerty keyboard. Technically speaking, the G1’s shiniest feature is its operating system, Android.
This system was created with the intention of being able to control the mobile phone very similar to how you work with a computer. Through Android, the G1 is able to go online and have access to all Google services, Mail, Google Maps, and YouTube. The internet connection is assured, of course, by 3G or Wi-Fi making the G1 a fierce adversary not only for Apple’s iPhone, but also to other cell phone manufacturers.
The phone will be introduced by January 30 in the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Austria, the phone will be available in Germany on February 2 and in Poland later that month. T-Mobile have not revealed the exact numbers the phone sold in America and Britain, but it seems like the phone has some success.
