Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has recently announced that a single-player demo for the highly-expected video game F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin will be available on January 22 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and PC. The console users can download the demo from XBL and PSN, while the PC gamers can get the Windows version from the official website.
It looks like the demo will feature several locations in the city of Auburn, now in ruins after the events that happened in the first game. As for the final version of the game, F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin will ship to retailers on February 13, 2009.
Another good news comes for PS3 users and Qore subscribers: they can download the game right now. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin picks up shortly before the ending of F.E.A.R. and places players in the boots of a member of a Special Forces squad on a mission in the city of Auburn. As previously mentioned, the city is caught in a massive explosion caused by Alma, the mysterious girl from the first game.
Basically, the player has to fight through their enemies and the supernatural occurrences thrown at them before things et out of hand. However, the official announcement is quite vague on what exactly the demo will include - „bloodstained corridors and hallways from several locations in the game” is as specific as it gets, so it remains to be seen on what the demo will actually contain.
Last month, Monolith released engine demos of the game in order to attract attention over the sequel, as the original F.E.A.R. Was received very well, largely due to the atmosphere and engine elements.
